Happy Last Day of School!
Thank you so much for a wonderful school year. It has been our pleasure teaching your students this year! Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or your student need anything. Hello Families!
We have made it to the last weekend of school! We only have three more school days left! Remember, the Last Day of School is Wednesday, June 12th. Dismissal will be at 12:30 pm! We will be doing a yearbook signing on Tuesday. Please have your student bring a Sharpie marker for their yearbook. If your student still needs to purchase a yearbook, we will have premade books that students can use to get signatures! For Field Day, students will wear their Maltby Class T-shirts and can bring a small backpack or a drawstring backpack with their water bottle and any other things they need. I highly recommend that students wear tennis shoes and appropriate clothing for outdoor activities! Our field day is from 12:35 to 3:20! On Wednesday, students will need nothing but themselves! We will have our poetry slam with breakfast and finish the year by writing a letter to the future 5th graders who will enter our classrooms in the Fall! Here are some announcements for next week: The Yearbook Signing will be on Tuesday, June 11th, from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Tuesday, June 11th is Field Day- Wear Classroom T-shirt! Poetry Slam will be on Tuesday, June 11th, and Wednesday, June 12th The Last Day of School is on Wednesday, June 12th Math: We finished Unit 7 this week, and grades will be in the gradebook soon! Please check Parent Connect to see how your student finished the year! Reading/Writing: Students finish their Book Club Assignments and Conversations today! They did a fantastic job! Also, students were able to take their last AR tests. Updated Grades for AR points and comprehension will be updated today! Students are now just working on Poetry! Please have students work on memorizing their poems over the weekend! Science: Students finished their gravity unit and moved on to the Solar System. Students were able to study a planet of their choice to create a Planet Brochure about their Planet. They could share them with their classmates today, so please ask your students to show you their brochures! Homework: Practicing memorizing their poems for the Poetry Slam on Tuesday and Wednesday.
