One week until the trimester is done! I can’t believe we are ⅔ done with the school year already. This week students have been learning about finding common denominators to add and subtract fractions. Also, students are working hard on their thought boxes for Book Clubs. They enjoy these books! Please be aware that students will have until March 4th to finish their book. Another project that students will be working on is the Scientific Method Experiment of their choosing, which is due on Friday, March 4th. Silent Auction Information: First of all, thank you to the parents who already donated items for our Silent Auction Basket. However, I am still looking for one parent to sign up to lead our Silent Auction Basket. Mrs. Krayer's classroom already has a parent who set up our basket theme and items. If you want to help that parent out, please sign up using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ca4a82ea7fe3-maltby4. Also, the donations for our Silent Auction have begun. Please look at the items we need for our Backyard Campfire-inspired Basket. Please have your student bring an item to school if you donate an item. We will be collecting items until Friday, March 18th. It is due next Friday, March 4th THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE THIS IS HAPPENING EVERY DAY! Students should be bringing all their materials home and back to school every day. This will help students who have to quarantine due to exposure to Covid-19. Students who are quarantined or absent NEED to look on Google Classroom for our daily assignment post. Our students must stay on top of their school work when they are not here at school. Please email me if you have any questions or comments. Parents! what you need to sign this week:
Parent Connect/Gradebooks: Parents, you can start checking Parent Connect to see what assignments your student is missing or incomplete and see what they have received on homework and test. For missing assignments, I would suggest showing your students what the assignment is and looking for it in their backpack, desk, or locker. If they can’t find it, please tell me to make a new copy. Students could also check their grades using Student Connect if they didn’t know. This can be found on the Brighton Area Schools website under “I am a Student.” Please email me if you have any questions. Absent Students: Please look on Google Classroom for Assignments and Homework that you missed. I will have all the paper copies for you when you return, and you will need to get your absent packet signed by a parent. Planners: Please sign the planner every day! Math: Started Unit 5: Fractions homelinks are on Google Classroom Reading/Writing: Book Clubs are halfway done, and the students are doing an excellent job meeting with their groups every day and discussing their books. Remember, though, students need to have 20 AR points by March 4th. So please check in with their students to see where they are. Science: We are now onto on Ch-Ch- Changes Unit. They have a new packet, and student participation will be based on in-class learning. Remember students must finish their scientific method project at home and turn it in Friday, March 4th, on Google Classroom. Good Afternoon Parents, First of all, thank you to the parents who donated items for our Valentine’s Day activities. The students had a wonderful day celebrating love and friendship! Please enjoy the photos from the week at the bottom of this post. We officially have two weeks until the trimester is finished. Students have been working hard, finishing projects, studying for unit tests, and completing daily work. This week they finished their Decimal unit, and now we are moving back to Fractions. It will be due on Wednesday, February 16th! Another project that students will be working on is the Scientific Method Experiment of their choosing. Here are some announcements for next week: Valentine's Day Fun Activities will be happening on Monday, with time to work on their Non-Fiction One Pager Project.
