Hello Families!
This week, we continued MSTEP testing by taking the Social Studies and Science MSTEP. The good news is that we are testing for math on May 6th, so we have a week off of MSTEP testing. For any students who were absent or did not finish one of the MSTEP tests, students will be called during the afternoon and finish testing at that time. NWEA Reports are coming today in the report card. Please take the reports out of the report card, sign it, and have your student return it to school on Monday, April 29th. Also, thank you to the parents who volunteered their time to help out with the Great Maker's Race! The students had so much fun! Remember, if your student is absent, please look at Google Classroom. Most of the time, I put what we did on there. Plus, most science assignments, all the Math Lesson videos, and ELA assignments are on Google Classroom. Here are some announcements for next week: MSTEP Testing Dates
Students need to wear their ID cards and DOG tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We finished Unit 6 and reviewed for the test today. Please take the weekend to start studying and practicing the skills for Unit 6. Unit Test on Wednesday, May 1st! Remember that all homelinks and the family letter for the unit are on Google Classroom. The McGraw Hill app has many games students can play at home to practice their skills. Reading/Writing: Students finished their Opinion Papers this week. These papers are AMAZING! Please ask your students to share their work on Google Classroom. For the next unit, we will work on Archetypes. Students are still working on reading for AR points and writing sticky notes while reading. AR Goals are due Friday, June 7th! Science: Students will be starting Changes Cycle 2 on Monday! Homework: Math Boxes on Math Journal page 216 and 229, read opinion paper to you, and read for 20 minutes with a reading log. Parent To-Do List:
If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Mrs. Orrico
