My Students Are AWESOME!

Hello Parents,

Oh my goodness, I am in awe of the hard work that the students did to throw an epic bridal shower for me! This class is special to me as I end my last school year with my maiden name. Thank you to all the parents that helped make this happen! Also, thank you so much for the gift. My fiance and I greatly appreciate your generosity as we start this new chapter of our lives together. The countdown to the end of the school year is fast approaching. We are officially 12 school days away from Summer. Students are working hard this week on drawing, writing, and reading. We have many fun school activities for the students to show their creativity.

Here are some announcements:

End of the School Year Events: 
  • Monday, May 29th, No School Memorial Day
  • Friday, June 2nd, PTO Movie Night  
  • Monday, June 5th All Library Books are due! 
  • Thursday, June 8th and Friday, June 9th Reproductive Health Classes
  • Tuesday, June 13 Field Day
  • Wednesday, June 14th Last Day ½ Day!!

Planners: Please sign the planner for every day!
Math: We finished Unit 6. I will grade tests throughout the week, and they will return them soon. We started Unit 7. We will still have homelinks and math boxes. The homelinks are on Google Classroom. 
Reading/Writing: Students finished their Argumentative papers. If absent, please look on Google Classroom to see what part of the writing process we are at, or I will catch them up when we get back. Also, please keep reading for AR!
Science: We will be starting our Solar System Unit next week. All assignments will be on Google Classroom.  
Social Studies: Look on Mrs. Krayer’s Google Classroom for social studies for all assignments.

Homework: Read for 20 minutes, and log it in the Reading Log

Parent to-do list:
  • Sign Planner 
  • Sign Reading Log
  • Sign Reproductive Health Form and turn it in on Tuesday (if you haven't done this already)

Finally a Normal Week of School

The countdown to the end of the school year is fast approaching. We are officially 17 school days away from Summer. Students are working hard this week on drawing, writing, and reading. We have many fun school activities for the students to show their creativity.

Reading/Writing: Students are working on their Argumentative Paper. We should be typing those papers by the middle of the week. If absent, please look on Google Classroom to see what part of the writing process we are at. This paper will be our last final paper of the year. Also, please keep reading for AR!
Science: Students took the Changes Cycle 2 test today and will turn in their comics on Monday, May 22nd. All assignments will be on Google Classroom.  
Social Studies: Look on Mrs. Krayer’s Google Classroom for social studies for all assignments.

Homework: Finish Science Comics (Students will have 40 minutes to work on them on Monday, too), Read for 20 minutes, and log it in the Reading Log

  • Fill out the Reproductive Health Parent Permission Form

MSTEP Testing is DONE

We are officially done with MSTEP testing! Any students absent during testing will make it up during the school day.

Math: We are finishing up Unit 6 and there will be a test on Wednesday, May 17th.

Hello Parents,
Goodbye April, Hello May. I can’t believe we are in the final push of the school year. The students are working hard and also having some fun as well!
On Monday and Tuesday, we have our last MSTEP test, Math. If students would like to prepare, they can take practice tests at http://www.prepdog.org/5th-grade.htm Also, there are some math Google Slides on Google Practice that we started in class today if the students want to do additional practice.
Spring is here, and students’ energy levels are high. Please make sure you review the school's rules and your expectations for them to finish the school year strong. Also, with Spring comes warmer weather. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for school.
