Good Morning Parents,
We made it to Winter Break! This week the students worked hard on their narratives and finished the 1st part of their Unit 3 math test. We also had so much fun doing Grinch week. There will be a special gift coming home today for you to enjoy! I want to say thank you for all the donations for the school events and activities this year so far. I am grateful for all my students’ families! I hope everyone takes this break to relax, be with family and friends, and enjoy the time off! Also, please make sure you stay safe and healthy for 2023! Here is some information for next week: Winter Break is from Thursday, December 22nd, to Tuesday, January 3rd. I will see everyone back on Wednesday, January 4th! Planners: Please sign the planner for Everyday! Math: Part 1 of Unit 3 of Fractions is done! Enjoy break! Reading/Writing: Students worked very hard on their Narratives. If you want to see them, students turned them in on Google Classroom. Also, please keep reading this break. Students can take an AR test for any books read over break. Science: We are done with Go With The Flow Cycle 1. We will start Cycle 2 when we get back from break! Social Studies: Look on Mrs. Krayer’s Google Classroom for social studies for all assignments. Homework: Please make sure to have your student read their AR books. They can take an AR test when they get back from break. Parent to-do list:

Good Afternoon Parents,
We officially have eight days left of school for 2023! We are working hard in our Fraction Unit and our narratives. Students will continue to work on one true story already in their life to write about. These will be done before we leave for break. For Science, we will be starting Grinch Week! It is a fun week full of team building and fun holiday activities. Thank you to everyone who donated to our Grinch Week supplies! Also, A HUGE thank you to all families who donated perishable food items and money for the Canned Food Prix. It is so important that we teach our students to pay it forward and give back to our community during the holiday season! Here is some information for next week: Report Cards are coming home today! Planners: Please sign the planner for Everyday! Math: We are working on Fractions for Unit 3. Homelinks are Google Classroom Reading/Writing: Students are working on Narrative Writing. Today students picked one story to focus on. We will draft, edit, revise, and publish it before Winter break. Science: We are done with Go With The Flow Cycle 1. Welcome to the first week of the trimester! We are diving right into our first writing unit and our new unit of math: Fractions. Here is some information for next week: Our annual Food Can Prix is from December 1st – December 9th!! ∙ Parents can send in cans from the pantry or dry goods with students OR drop them off in the office – make sure to label your student’s homeroom!! ∙ Students can also make monetary donations!! The winning Maltby classroom of the Food Can Prix also gets to have their names on the Maltby trophy and keep it in their classroom for the remainder of the year!! Here are some examples of what items you can donate:
Planners: Please sign the planner for Everyday! Math: Unit 2 Test will be on Trimester 2 report card. We moved onto Unit 3 and the homelinks are on Google Classrom. Reading/Writing: Students are working on Narrative Writing. Next week students will pick one story from their life to write about. We will draft, edit, revise, and publish it before Winter break. Science: We are still working on the Go With the Flow unit. There will be a possible test day next Thursday or Friday. If you are absent from an experiment, please write absent in your packet.
