Happy January Families!
I hope everyone had a relaxing Winter Break! This week, we got back into the swing of things by setting expectations and practicing routines that make our class run smoothly. For ELA, we are finishing up our figurative language unit. Students worked on task cards and created a mini book to help them review for the test on Tuesday, January 16th. For Math, we are working on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers, turning improper fractions into mixed numbers, and looking at fractions as division problems. If you want to learn more about what we are learning, I have put the family letter on Google Classroom. Remember, if you are absent, please look at Google Classroom. Most of the time, I put what we did on there. Plus, most science assignments are on Google Classroom, along with all the Math Lesson videos and novel study read-aloud videos. Here are some announcements for next week: No School on Monday, January 15th. Students need to wear their ID cards and DOG tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We are still working on Unit 3! Please make sure students are keeping their homelinks to study for the test. Reading/Writing: Figurative Language test and mini booklet due on Tuesday. Science: Go With The Flow Cycle 2 on Google Classroom Homework: Study for figurative language test, finish figurative language booklet, homelink 3.10, and read for 20 minutes and fill out reading log. Parent To-Do list:
