Happy Friday Eve Families!
For Math, we are working on decimals and how to read, write, compare, and order decimals. The Math Journal, which includes the lessons and math boxes, is a great resource to review these skills. Also, remember all homelinks and the family letter for the unit are on Google Classroom. For ELA, students learn about the theme of the lesson the author wants the reader to learn from the story. Students will identify the theme in stories and support their choices with evidence from the story. Look on Google Classroom for resources! For Science, students have been learning about the Scientific Method and applying their knowledge to their projects. Next week, we are going to unpack physical and chemical changes. Remember, if you are absent, please look at Google Classroom. Most of the time, I put what we did on there. Plus, most science assignments are on Google Classroom, along with all the Math Lesson videos and novel study read-aloud videos. Here are some announcements for next week: We have had many students not write in their planners correctly, which is causing some communication problems on what homework, which can also lead to students not turning in homework assignments on time. Therefore, please talk with your students about how they are doing with assignments and turning them in. Also, please make sure you are checking the planner and Google Classroom for all assignments. No School on Monday, February 19th Kindness Week is from Tuesday, February 20th, to Friday, February 23rd Activity Afternoon is on Thursday, February 22nd The 100th Day of School is on February 21st! Students can wear a shirt with one hundred things/items on it, or it could say one hundred. Students need to wear their ID cards and DOG tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We are on Unit 4: Decimals. There are many games on McGraw Hill app that students can play at home to practice their skills. Reading/Writing: Students ares still working on reading for AR points and writing sticky notes while reading. Science: Chemical and Physical Changes Homework: read for 20 minutes, and fill out the reading log. Parent To-Do List:
