Hello, Parents!
We had an awesome week in 5th grade! Students are working hard with learning how to write a CERER in ELA for our read-aloud Restart and continuing their understanding of volume in rectangle prisms. We will be having our first math test early next week! Students also had many fun days implementing the four C’s (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking) in our STEAM Mania for Science. Also, Friday Folders are going home this week. Please clear out the folder, sign the communication sheet, and send the folder to school with your student on Monday. Here are some announcements for next week: Students need to be wearing their ID Cards and DOG Tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. **Students do need headphones and computer mice for class every day. Please send in plug-in headphones and mice (not Bluetooth) for your student starting Monday, October 30th** Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We will be taking the Unit 1 test early next week. Remember to study by reviewing your homelinks, math journal pages, and math boxes. If your student is absent, all the lesson videos are on Google Classroom. Reading/Writing: Students are working on writing CERER for our read aloud book Restart. They will write a CERER for their own silent reading book starting on Monday. Also, students are working on sticky notes in our books. So, students are expected to write one to two sticky notes in their book per reading time. Science: Students had a fun time doing the STEAM Mania to work on the four C’s (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking). We will be starting our first unit on Monday! Homework: Homelink 1.12, read 20 minutes, and fill out the reading log Parent To Do list:
