Hello Families!
We had a great week of jumping back into routines and learning from Spring Break. Students are working hard to prepare for the MSTEP and strengthen their reading and writing skills. Also, students had some fun observing frozen and hard-boiled eggs to make discoveries about physical and chemical changes. Remember, if your student is absent, please look at Google Classroom. Most of the time, I put what we did on there. Plus, most science assignments, all the Math Lesson videos, and ELA assignments are on Google Classroom. Here are some announcements for next week: No School on Monday, April 8th New Encores starts Tuesday, April 9th Book Fair from Monday, April 15th to Friday, April 19th MSTEP Testing Dates
Students need to wear their ID cards and DOG tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We are finishing Unit 5. We will review on Tuesday, and the test is on Wednesday. Students can study using homelinks, math boxes, and the review. Also, remember that all homelinks and the family letter for the unit are on Google Classroom. The McGraw Hill app has many games students can play at home to practice their skills. Reading/Writing: Students started their Opinion Paper this week. All daily writing assignments are on Google Classroom for students to refer back to. We will continue writing, revising, and editing this writing for the next two weeks. Students are still working on reading for AR points and writing sticky notes while reading. AR Goals are due Friday, June 7th! Science: Students finished their final explorations of properties of matter and physical and chemical changes. Test for Changes Cycle 1 on Tuesday! Homework: Study for the science test on Tuesday, Homelink 5.14, and Math Boxes page 193, and read for 20 minutes with a reading log. Parent To-Do List:
