Hello Families!
We are done with MSTEP! We celebrated with a Confetti Throw! Each day of MSTEP, we wrote down all our worries and stresses on test days, ripped them up, and collected them—today was the day we threw them in the air! We also celebrated with some Dunkin Donuts, which the kids enjoyed! Plus, one of our students’ Pawsitives got pulled to have our therapy dog, Hope, in our classroom all day! Let’s just say we had a fabulous Friday! Click here to see the video of the Confetti Throw Remember, if your student is absent, please look at Google Classroom. Most of the time, I put what we did on there. Plus, most science assignments, all the Math Lesson videos, and ELA assignments are on Google Classroom. Here are some announcements for next week: Brain Chick was here today to talk about his new book Wayfinder. An order form went home today if your child wants to order a book. Unit 6 Math Test went home today! Please review those tests with your student. If students want to retake, test corrections are due Tuesday! Grade Check-In Sheets are going home today! Please review and sign your name. Then, have your student turn it in on Monday. This sheet will replace the Friday Communication Sheet this week. Students need to wear their ID cards and DOG tags every day. They are allowed to keep them here at school. This protocol is essential since Maltby is so big that if all students have their cards and tags on them, we can identify them in passing times. Planners: Please sign the planner for Friday! Math: We started the first lesson of Unit 7. Homelink 7.1 and Math Boxes for 7.1 are due Monday. Remember that all homelinks and the family letter for the unit are on Google Classroom. The McGraw Hill app has many games students can play at home to practice their skills. Reading/Writing: Book Clubs started today! The first set of sticky notes and the first assignment will be due on Wednesday, May 15th! Students are still working on reading for AR points and writing sticky notes while reading. AR Goals are due Friday, June 7th! Science: Students took their Science Vocabulary Test today. The scores are in their email if you want to see what they got! Homework: Read their Book Club book and start working on Book Club assignments, Unit 6 Math Test corrections (only for students who want to retake portions of the test, and read for AR by filling out the reading log!
